This is the last post in the Finding Your Inner Athlete series and we are going to spend it talking about everyone’s favorite muscles, your glutes.
Look at the best athletes around the world, they all have Big! Strong! Glutes!
If you want to throw harder, sprint faster, and jump further you have to have strong glutes. If you look at the best pitchers, sprinters, and wide receivers you will notice they all have big butts. Strong glutes lead to better hip extension, which leads to being more powerful, which ultimately causes you to be more athletic.
There are many exercises you can add to your routine to build strong glutes. Movements like squats, deadlifts, glute bridges, hip thrusters, bulgarian splits squats, back extensions, and lunges will all help build strong glutes.

Not only will strong glutes make you a better athlete, they will also improve your health. Having strong glutes will lessen your chance of knee and back problems.
If you have medical limitations or dysfunctions that prevent you from doing some the movements I will be sharing with you please contact me and I can suggest modifications or alternatives.
You have the ability to be an amazing athlete and I want to help you get there. It is never too late to get started!
